Prepared October 8, 2026. This draft describes the local browser preview, not a launched analysis service. The intended worldwide service needs a final review against its actual hosted data flows before release.

Audio access is your choice

The microphone starts only after you tap the listening circle and grant browser permission. The microphone capture is currently limited to 15 seconds. Shared app or tab audio requires a separate browser sharing selection; availability depends on the browser, operating system and source. The sharing API may provide screen video, but this preview records only its audio tracks. Capture or cancellation stops the acquired tracks.

Files and links

Files you choose or drop are loaded locally for playback. Their full audio is not trimmed to the live capture duration. YouTube links are validated and normalized locally. The preview does not fetch, download or analyze YouTube audio. Opening a link takes you to YouTube, where Google's policies apply. Whole-song file and link analysis is intended product scope, but is not connected here.

What is saved

Audio is held temporarily in browser memory for review. Choosing Save discovery stores the capture time, source, optional filename and your listening note in this browser's local database. Audio is saved only if you separately select Keep the audio on this device. Saving a YouTube discovery stores the video link and save time, not a copy of its audio. No cloud account or cross-device sync is connected.

Deletion and retention

You can delete individual saved discoveries in Discoveries. Unsaved audio is released when discarded or when this page closes. Saved local records remain until deleted or browser site data is cleared; the browser may also evict storage. This is not a backup service. Local deletion does not delete a source file on your computer or content on YouTube. We have not verified forensic erasure or deletion from device backups.

No connected analysis or contributions

This preview does not upload audio, files, notes or links to an analysis service. Identity and experimental descriptions are not connected. Keeping audio locally is separate from contributing audio. No audio contribution, training consent, newsletter, advertising or analytics integration is connected in this version.

Privacy questions and your choices

Use the discovery deletion controls or clear this browser’s site data to remove local records. Useful Magic cannot remotely access or recover records stored only on your device through this preview. Contact support@usefulmagic.studio for questions about this preview.
